What Is the Difference Between the Lexus TX 350 and the Lexus TX 500h?

The base TX 350 has a 2.4L turbocharged I4 gas engine capable of 275 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is paired with an eight-speed ECT-i transmission and standard front-wheel drive, although some TX 350 trims are available with AWD. This motor can reach sixty miles per hour in eight seconds for FWD models. 

The TX 500h F SPORT Performance Premium AWD, which is the base TX hybrid model, has a 2.4L turbocharged I4 engine with Lexus Hybrid Electric Drive. This hybrid motor can generate 366 horsepower and 409 lb-ft of torque. This model has a six-speed ECT-i transmission and standard DIRECT4 all-wheel drive. The hybrid can go from zero to sixty in 6.1 seconds. 

Fuel Economy

The TX 350 has a fuel economy estimate of 21 MPG in the city, 27 MPG on the highway, and 23 MPG combined. The TX 500h, on the other hand, gets an estimated 27 MPG in the city, 28 MPG on the highway, and 27 MPG combined. 

Performance Features

While both models have race-inspired paddle shifters and a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 lbs, only the hybrid has features such as an F SPORT-tuned adaptive variable suspension and active sound control. The TX 500h model also has a Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management system with dynamic rear steering. 

Interior Features

The TX 350 can seat seven passengers and has standard features such as ambient illumination, multi-zone climate control, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, and eight-way power-adjustable front seats with lumbar adjustment. The TX 500h seats six passengers and comes with thematic ambient illumination, an F SPORT perforated leather steering wheel, aluminum pedals, and heated and ventilated front seats. 

Exterior Features

The standard exterior features for the TX 350 include bi-LED headlights, LED fog lights, power-folding heated side mirrors, and 20-inch Dark Gray alloy wheels. The hybrid model has standard features such as auto-leveling bi-LED headlights, LED cornering lights, LED daytime running lights, headlight washers, and 22-inch five-spoke two-tone alloy wheels. 

Safety Features

While many of the technology and safety features of each SUV are the same, there are some differences. The TX 350 has a seven-inch multi-information display, while the TX 500h has a 12.3-inch multi-information display.
