No driver wants dents in their car. Even if the paint isn’t chipped, you know they’re there. You’ll immediately start thinking about how to remove them ASAP. To get these annoying dents removed, you could undertake a DIY repair, or you can get the car dents removed by your Lexus dealer. These are some of the ways you can remove a dent.

The DIY Methods

  • Hammer

This is the oldest method of removing a dent in the metal. You’ll need to place a piece of wood or thick material over the dented area. Once this is in place, you’ll hit the dented area to knock the dent out. The key to this technique is checking the dent repeatedly and applying the right amount of force. If you use too much pressure, you risk cracking the paint and making the dent worse.

Dent in a Car in Mt. Kisco, NY

  • Dent Puller

The dent puller involves drilling a hole in the center of the dent. You then insert the dent puller into the hole and slowly and carefully manipulate it to work the dent out. This method has a good chance of success, but it requires patience. Drilling a hole in your car also means you’ll have to repair the hole and repaint the area to remove the evidence.

  • Plunger

Dent plungers are specialist tools that look similar to a bathroom plunger. You could use a bathroom plunger, but it won’t work as well as this specialist tool. The idea of the plunger is to place the suction cup around the area of the dent. Once the plunger is attached, you use the pressure of the suction to pull the dent out. This requires strength, but it can be very effective.

  • Hair Dryer

This method sounds very odd, but it can be effective on a small dent. The procedure is to apply heat from the hair dryer over the affected area. This can be most effective if you hold the dryer at least 6 inches from the dent. Once the area is hot, apply aluminum foil over the heated area. Finally, rub dry ice over the foil, and the dent should pop out.
